Vail Chairlift Accident Sends Two Guests to the Hospital

On December 15, 2025, two men fell from a chairlift at Vail Mountain. The two California residents fell from the Mountaintop Express Lift at Vail Mountain and were transported to Vail Health Hospital. This is the second chairlift accident this season following a snowboarder’s fall from the Montezuma Express chairlift at Keystone Resort in November.

Last season, (2024-2025) there were 18 chairlift falls reported to the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board. This was the most in Colorado.
